Today's topic:

Hiding in the Bathroom with Food – the weird things we do to get some time alone (or eat our favorite foods)

I swear my toddler is like a dog when it comes to food... If she sees or even hears that I have food of some sort she comes running. She will sit at my feet and beg for some of whatever I have. I could be eating dirt & she would want some! Recently she has started this new thing.. If she thinks you may have ate something or smells food on my [ or anyone's ] breath, she will say " what is that smell? Open your mouth. " She then looks inside. She has caught me with chocolate, cookies, bacon, and pretzels with this method! Ha! All I can do is laugh, she is amazing! I try to hide in the kitchen or in the living room. BUT if she is not in bed she some how knows I have food. The same goes for my husband. My toddler and my husband do not let me have my snacks to myself in peace. Rattle a chip bag or a wrapper of some sort and they BOTH come running! But I guess this is just a kid.. dog.. man... thing! Ha!

What do you have to do to sneak a little snack in your house?

Next Wednesday's topic is: To Spank or Not to Spank – a discussion on discipline: when to start, how to implement, and how does it change as kids get older

  1. That's hilarious! I made the mistake of bribing my daughter with an M&M for a kiss one day so now every time I have something she wants, she starts kissing me over and over again which is SO hard to say no to!

  10. I love this because I can relate so much. Austin is always asking for a "bite" whenever he sees me chewing on something - he doesn't even know what it is!

  11. I love all these posts. Everyone deserve to eat their snacks in peace. Even if that does mean you need to hide in a closet or bathroom. The snack is worth it!
